On the road...

Mitchell, SD
It's been one week since we left Philly and it's been a crazy fun and busy week!

Today was a fairly long day, 10 hours in the truck. The good thing is that this is the longest driving day that we will have going forward.  We said our goodbyes to the Fiddes' and hit the road around 9:00 this morning. They loaded us up with cookies, watermelon, and popcorn, we should be set now.

Today was a nice drive; green rolling hills, cows, windmills, and tons of corn!  We were jamming to the mix "tape" Ali and Joe made for us, thanks guys, the music was awesome.  We stopped for gas in Iowa and made a quick lunch of sandwiches, delish!  Oh yeah, the speed limit here is 75, we were flying.

Lunch in Iowa
Scott and I can't believe the flooding we saw near Sioux City, IA. After seeing the flood waters that remain, we can't image what it must have been like. In some of the areas you could only see the tops of huge trees! Amazing that there's still the flood waters here when other areas are in a draught.

We got some good news today during the drive.  Our house in Ohio went under contract.  We're definitely excited but are containing most of it until the actual close.  I will have to say that I absolutely love having an iPad, it's definitly coming in handy on this trip.  Instead of having to stop along the way to sign all of the paperwork, we stopped at a rest area that had Wi-F, I downloaded an app that we used to sign and date all of the paperwork and then emailed it back to our agent.  It was awesome!

First Night Camping, Mitchell, SD
Tonight we're camping in Mitchell, South Dakota at a KOA.  It's a nice night here, thankfully the weather has held out and no rain yet.  It's in the 70's and fairly humid right now.  Both Scott and I are looking forward to getting West where the humidity levels are low.  We played some catch until the sun went down and now we're relaxing.  The campground has wireless so we are spoiled.  I guess we'll watch something on Netflix later.

That's it for now!
