We headed off to Portland today to stay with my cousin Jodie and her family.
It was a nice drive; the first half was through the high desert with huge hills and canyons which followed a river and the second half was through Mount Hood National Forest. The trees in this national forest were huge. It seems like we've been in lodge pole pine forests and now we in huge ponderosa and other large pine forests. We also got some great views of snowcapped Mount Hood.
We got to my cousins at about 12:30 and pretty much just hung out for the rest of the day and night. It was fun getting to know all of the kids and reconnecting with Jodie and Jojo. Jodie grilled an awesome dill salmon, leeks, grilled zucchini and grandma's biscuits with a little sangria to top it off. It was delish!
We all hit the sac fairly early, but it was a great day.
